The the elegance of a drape but the functionality of a blind, choose our Sheer Vertical Blinds. We off both from Comfortex. The Star Dust and the Ballet.

These are a very unique blind because they are a drape and blind combo. You have vanes, made of fabric, the same size as a regular vertical blind. Attaching each vane is a fine, see-through sheer that finishes out the blind and makes it look like a drape. Although these can be formal, with a wood fascia valance, you can make these semi-formal and actually match wood blind or shutters.

The advantage of the sheer vertical blind is the elegance, you can look out of the vane when open through the sheer and have a great amount of privacy, the sheer will block out all the UV rays and makes it energy efficient.  You can tilt the shade for total privacy and add a blackout vane to make it where light is blocked out.

The disadvantages are the price (it is one of our most expensive blinds). Second it the stack. The stack is how much space it takes when you draw the blind to one side. With the sheer and vanes, it can be significant for some. Lastly, it is not totally room darkening if that is a concern. The sheer that is attached will prevent the blind from closing tightly and light will seep in.

These are popular for large, grand windows such as you would find in a formal dining room and sliding glass doors where you have existing horizontal sheers in that area for the regular windows. You can mix and match these quite nicely with the horizontal sheer shades.
