Inside MountThe blind is mounted inside the window frame; offers a tailored look, emphasizing the actual size of the window. Any deductions will be made by the manufacturer. Window casing should at least meet the minimum depth required to accommodate the brackets, or the flush mount depth to have the headrail fully recessed in the casing. When selecting your size, enter the actual dimensions of your window casing. | |

Outside MountThe blind is mounted on the wall or molding outside the window frame to cover an area larger than the window itself. Outside mounted blinds are required if the window casing is not deep enough to accommodate the mounting brackets for an inside mount. When selecting your size, enter the desired size of the blind itself - at least 1 1/2" of overlap on each side is recommended. | |

Detailed Description for Blackout Motorized Cellular Shades
Blackout Motorized Cellular Shades- Radio frequency is a fantastic product for day sleepers and media rooms. Owners simply need to click the remote to operate the opening and closing mechanism. The receptor batteries are hidden in the headrail and are very easy to replace.
The blackout motorized shades use 8 Lithium AA batteries and the remote can be operated over 45 feet away from the shades. If you do not want to change batteries constantly, use the optional power adapter. The opening/closing mechanism is run by a 2 amp motor that can be powered through the 110 volt adapter.
The 3/4 - 3/8 inch cells are perfect for covering large windows and preventing any light from filtering through when closed. Although it has a shutter-like design, there are no holes for light to enter, hence the term “blackout”.
There are numerous colors available, depending on the size you choose. The ¾ inch is available in white azalea, shady blue, rose trellis, persimmon, dogwood, deep navy, Bordeaux, bluegrass, and beechwood. For the 3/8 inch, users can choose from white azalea, organic, homespun, golden ember, dogwood, bonsai, and beechwood. Like all products offered by Shades Shutters Blinds, customers can pre-order color samples for testing.

I bought these blinds because I needed the room darkened during daylight hours to eliminate glare on my large screen TV. The 4 windows were hard to reach behind furniture, so the remote control was the solution. These work great with the push of a button. I did find the installation documentation a bit lacking regarding the power connection, but otherwise a routine install.

Good motorized blinds for the price. The construction is a bit flimsy, which would be OK if they weren't so difficult to lock in place. Replacing the batteries will be a pain since you have to remove the blinds and they are tough to lock in place. The IR sensor is on the left, not on the right (as pictured), which in my case was not ideal. Universal remotes have trouble learning the IR codes, and even after learning may require 1/4 presses to open/close the blinds.

Great room darkening product. Works great once you can get them working. The motors and switches arrived out of adjustment required twice as long as necessary to get them working. They could not have been tested before shipping. Too bad because once I got them working they are great. I wold have liked to give them max stars!

Installed in recessed space, somewhat difficult to size exactly right. Any space on the sides allows light in. However, it looks very good, provides complete privacy, and works as advertized.

I don't know what took me so long in ordering this motorized cellular shade! We installed it on a large window over our front door that is approx. 16 feet high and impossible to get to on a daily basis. This shade has made a world of difference on hot summer days when the sun comes pouring in that window, heats up the front of the home and practically blinds anyone sitting in the family room that has sight of it. We love this new shade!
