For homeowners who desire the appearance of a natural wood product for their window treatments, but, like many of us, have budget constraints, manufacturers have created faux wood blinds and shutters. The word faux is placed in front of many home improvement and remodeling products and materials. The definition of the word "faux", according to the Webster's dictionary, is; artificial, fake.

There are two types of fauxwood blinds under the Shades Shutters Blinds brand name. The first and most popular is our custom faux wood blinds which is made of 100% PVC. We warrant this against discoloration and warpage.

This material is around 50% heavier than a real wood blind. The second type of pvc blinds we use are composite blinds. They have the same warranty as the discount faux wood blinds. The difference is that the slat material is made of a wood and PVC mixture. They have a baked on coating where the color is attached to the material. We offer two types of 2" Faux Wood blinds.  First is the value 2 faux wood blinds or the discount faux wood blinds.  The headrails are pre-made and is more affordable.  No options are available. Second it the custom 2 faux wood blinds.  This PVC blinds is truly made from scratch and lastly, is the stained faux wood blinds.  We have a great stained color selection too looks like real woodblinds.

The 2 1/2" flat slat provides greater views.  We offer two types of 2 1/2" faux woodblinds.  First is the most affordable value 2 1/2" faux wood. Ships quick but no options available.  Second is the Custom 2 1/2" faux woods.  Made from scratch and larger specs.

This is a wood alloy or composite material. The 2" slats are lighter than the faux wood blinds and the 2 1/2" looks like a shutter slat that is contoured like an airplane wing. Tighter closure. Great views.

The R-Value is how much energy efficiency your blinds has for blocking out the heat and cold. For this product (when closed) the R- Value is Good.
