Inside MountThe blind is mounted inside the window frame; offers a tailored look, emphasizing the actual size of the window. Any deductions will be made by the manufacturer. Window casing should at least meet the minimum depth required to accommodate the brackets, or the flush mount depth to have the headrail fully recessed in the casing. When selecting your size, enter the actual dimensions of your window casing. | |

Outside MountThe blind is mounted on the wall or molding outside the window frame to cover an area larger than the window itself. Outside mounted blinds are required if the window casing is not deep enough to accommodate the mounting brackets for an inside mount. When selecting your size, enter the desired size of the blind itself - at least 1 1/2" of overlap on each side is recommended. | |

Detailed Description for Discount Double Cellular Shades
Whether it is during the long summer days or short winter ones, there are few things that are as uplifting as long periods of sunshine. In addition to its natural uplifting effect on moods, sunshine also facilitates the production of vitamins that are key to keeping your body healthy and running well. At the same however, there are times when too much sunshine can be a bad thing. Sustained sunshine on your furniture can wash out the color on fabrics, and when coming through large windows, it can also create somewhat of a greenhouse effect that can make cooling your home expensive.
As a function of this, it is good to invest in a method for controlling the amount of sunshine that comes into your home, and discount double cell shades can be great in this regard. Cellular shades or 'honeycomb shades' as they are also called, are constructed from a pleated fabric and are woven together at the creases to create a honeycomb pattern. This construction makes them especially good at blocking sunlight during the summer months, but also acting as heat insulators during the winter months as well. This is especially true of the double cell versions, which consist of two rows of the cells, fused together. Although sizes, colors and prices can vary, discount double cell shades are available that allow you to get the insulation, shading, and/or light filtering you need without having to pay a hefty price tag in the process.

We had gotten custom blinds priced out by a custom dealer that would give us a hefty discount through a warehouse deal, and the price was decent that way, but we wanted to see if we could save money on it. I found this website, and was able to upgrade my blinds and get more than planned for a third of the cost! AND, we thought we might have to hire someone to install, but my husband and I were able to handle that ourselves// which speaks to the ease of the installation because we are NOT handy people!! A power screwdriver helped tons!! The blinds look GREAT!! They added so much to our home!

We ordered these great shades for my son's playroom. They were replacing the old fashioned pull/cord traditional blinds. I am a woman, and spent an afternoon installing them over our two windows while my husband was at work. It took me about 45 minutes for the first blind, and an hour for the second (it's 60 inches across so more brackets to hang) I took my time and thought I measured correctly. It was easy following the instructions supplied through your order (make sure to bookmark them as they do not come with instructions) I found them easy to follow. I had a bit of difficulty making sure the brackets were 100% aligned because if they are off by just a fraction, the blind will not "snap" into place. That was definitely the most time consuming part / ensuring your measurements are 100% even. Once you have that figured out, the hanging of them is a piece of cake! I was very impressed with the quality of these discount shades, I'm not sure why they are discounted, mine look like first run to me! I have noticed when I open them every morning that the shade on the inside is warm, while the shade on the outside is cool / I do think it is helping regulate the temperature in this room and come summer, it will definitely be a bonus as this room becomes very sunny and hot!

I installed this shade in my dinning room with my 120yr old dinning room suite, this was a replacement shade to replace one that is not made anymore, this product was an excellent subistute for the 1 that I had, mabee even better, considering the 1st one cost $125.more..I would recommend this shade to even my own family...

Blinds were purchased for energy saving reasons. Haven't had them up long, installed blinds just before Christmas. They were very easy to install, the fit is perfect, and they look great. Have several other windows to cover so if these work out I'll be ordering more. One suggestion is to make sure you get color samples (happy that I did this) before ordering. Sample colors online are very different than product.

I ordered the cordless shades/ which I love, especially with a little one around. Unfortunately, the shades have some memory, and retract "up" from the window sill, so that the shade doesn't "sit" on the sill. A couple of inches of extra length couldn't hurt. Installation was a cinch/ and they look great. Next time, I think I'll increase the length by a couple of inches, or come up with a way of securing the bottom to the sill.

These blinds are not adequate for Victorian window treatments, but they are adaptable as the inner layer for the windows of my Victorian house and eminently practical. And they are U.S. made!
