Inside MountThe blind is mounted inside the window frame; offers a tailored look, emphasizing the actual size of the window. Any deductions will be made by the manufacturer. Window casing should at least meet the minimum depth required to accommodate the brackets, or the flush mount depth to have the headrail fully recessed in the casing. When selecting your size, enter the actual dimensions of your window casing. | |

Outside MountThe blind is mounted on the wall or molding outside the window frame to cover an area larger than the window itself. Outside mounted blinds are required if the window casing is not deep enough to accommodate the mounting brackets for an inside mount. When selecting your size, enter the desired size of the blind itself - at least 1 1/2" of overlap on each side is recommended. | |

I bought four blinds for my living room in order to increase privacy after a break in. They look better than I thought they would (I was afraid they'd look a bit cheesey but they look really, really nice). They let in lovely filtered light when completely shut, and I highly recommend the top down feature. They were very easy to install. I'm planning to buy more for the rest of the windows in my house as I can afford them.

We needed a budget solution for some basement windows , but something that still had some insulating factor. These are great shades for the price for what they do.
Once up we noticed that the inside of the shades are not as cold as the inside of the window glass, so they seem to offer some direct heat lose protection over uncovered windows we figure.

There were no installation instructions sent with the blinds. I had to go online and print some, not knowing if they were specific enough to my particular blinds. Luckily, my son was visiting and is very handy. He was able to figure out the hardware and install the blind successfully. If it wouldn't have been for him I would have been extremely frustrated and probably returned the blinds.
