High quality sunscreen shades are now available through Shades Shutters Blinds. Today's solar shades are very much improved over the old sunscreens you may remember from childhood. The fabric is not as wide as the operation mechanisms. Read below for more information.

We offer two types of this immensely popular discount sunscreen. The 5% openness and the 10% openness. The rollers are heavy duty and so is the clutch mechanism that pulls the shade up and down. The fabric is the E-Screen by Mermet and is fire resistant. The E Screen material of our discount sunscreens is light and durable. We can make them very long and very wide. These are the perfect option for commercial applications and large quantity orders. Do not hesitate to call for architectural specs and twenty-five plus windows. Our contract quotes are unbeatable!

The first type of discount sunscreen we offer is the 5% openness. This means 5% visibility. This is by far the most common for in house use. It is not too open and you still get shapes and movements in the day but still offers a good measure of privacy. It will block most the heat and virtually all the UV rays.

The 10% is more open. The views are better but you sacrifice more UV protection, privacy and heat control. These are very popular in commercial applications especially in multi-story buildings where privacy isn't necessary but nice views are.

For ALL roller blinds (sheers, roller shades, sunscreens or any blind that rolls up), the fabric is narrower than the roller. It has to be this way to make room for the mechanisms that operate the blind and the fabric. The gap is the most significant of all our products and that is why this is here. There is a 1 1/2" total difference between the roller and the fabric. For inside the window (inside mount) there is nothing you can do about this so decide if that gap is acceptable. If not, you need to choose a different type of blind. For outside the windows (outside mount), you do have a choice. If you need the FABRIC to be a certain width, add to this measurement to make room for the roller. We will take the measurements including the headrail, not just the fabric size. We are not responsible for this so call if you have questions.
