Provenace™ by Hunter Douglas™
This article comes directly from Hunter Douglas™ and I thought would be useful. We do not sell a ton of the Provenace™ mainly because of price but the fabric quality is some of the best (if not the best) out there.
They broke down the Provenance book into three categories: bamboo, reeds and grasses. Some are a mix of all three or one or two. They combine a traditional look, natural materials and colors and ultra-modern technology. Most of these are porous and filter the amount of light entering a room for dramatic effects.
Here are the options:
- 5″ fabric folds when raised and flat when down.
- They have an optional classic natural wood shade cascades fabric down from the front of the head rail which prevents the need for a valance.
- The option band edging will protect the fabric from fraying and will allow more customization.
- You can enjoy added privacy with a light filtering or room darkening backing.
Check out Provenance™ by Hunter Douglas™ for the best woven wood blinds out there.

They are high quality, all options are available, and are at an excellent price while supplies last. We will take the colors off of the website as they let us know they are gone. Woven Wood Bora Bora Discontinued
This color is discontinued. Please read what Prestige has to say: We have depleted our inventory of Natural Woven pattern BORA BORA WT115 from our Natural Woods Woven Treasures collection, therefore, effective immediately it will be discontinued and removed from our system.
There are many reasons for the decision to discontinue this pattern:
-Pattern is a very slow mover
-Stock has been depleted
-Minimum ordering requirements
-Length of time to get additional material

Bamboo Blinds
Bamboo blind are roman roll up shades that are made of or grasses and bamboo. Bamboo shades have become very stylish over the last couple of years mainly because of pricing and quality.
Bamboo shades are now much nicer and are not necessarily made of total bamboo. Every blind is unique in workman ship. Most bamboo shades are made with grasses and bamboo combined and some are made with different types of sticks and bamboo material.
What is nice about bamboo shades is that it is very friendly to the environment. All mechanisms of this blind are made from natural materials including the optional backing made of cotton that can protect the blind. This makes the shades recyclable and long lasting. The average shade can last from five to twenty five years.
December Sales
We are having a December sale extravaganza on bamboo blinds. 10% off on all Rio Woven Woods. Prestige woven wood blinds have a 1 cent Top Down, Bottom Up. Sheer blinds are still $15 per shade and all the Hunter Douglas honeycomb shades have 1 cent top down, bottom up until December 15th.
Jan. 2007
Although business has been slow (that time of year), we have been very very busy. First, Shades Shutters Blinds redesigned our showroom with the most up to date blinds on the market.
The Denver area had two major blizzards one week of each other. The first on dumped 3 feet of snow! That forced us to close for 5 days. It took me 7 hours just to dig out of my driveway.
We added a junk blinds sale that is old stuff returned to our store. They were either misfits or overstocks. We put those online at around 50% below our cost. However, any offer will work. We just need to get rid of them to make room for our cut Internet samples.
That bieng said, we are still redesigneing our website and adding tons and tons of new products. This month we have added roller shades with over 200 different styles and options. Our woven wood collection is now massive with over 300 differnt styles and colors. We will soon be adding new plantation shutters, motorized options, roman shades and vertical blinds.
Sales for january are: 5% off all Hunter Douglas Duette UltraGlides.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy new year.

Quality and the Natural Woven Wood Product
Hunter Douglas Provenance Woven Woods are the perfect bamboo blind.
Above order for s/m: LUCAS PO: 7496- This order is on backorder due to fabric various in color at the edges. Per factory manager who has spoken with HD said this is acceptable fabric which is natural characteristic of the fabric. So I’m telling all of this because GCWC is making your blind with the suspect color that HD deemed acceptable I have attached a bulletin provide by HD on this issue.
Dear Hunter Douglas Fabricators:
You and we have seen delays in receiving fabric and finished shades due to the tremendous increase in volume in our woven wood line. However, another issue, perceived quality, also adds to the delays and customer dissatisfaction through remakes and returns.
We have attached a copy of our Provenance Woven Wood Information Sheet to help clarify points such as:
Why perfect alignment of slats or reeds is rarely possible. (Reason: Loose weaves, thinner/thicker reeds and bamboo, necessary tolerances between rows of different construction, such as, braids and reeds)
Why color variation can exist. (Reason: Grasses can vary in color within each stalk; stained wood can vary by piece)
Why some stretching can occur. (Reason: When weaving various thickness for wood, reeds, and grasses together some looseness occurs; this can lead to minor stretching)
The above points and on the attached sheet need to be explained to customer service personnel, dealers, and ultimately to consumers. Then, customers who fall in love with and order our Provenance Woven Woods will understand that the beauty of Nature is in its imperfections.
My opinion, basically, this product is natural and can’t be made perfectly. Colors and weaves can and will change from blind to blind. Shades Shutters Blinds nor our suppliers will warrant this product due to this. If you want to guarantee the same batch, please order all woven woods at the same time.
