We had a late spring snowstorm here in Castle Rock. It took me two hours to get to work today and I live 16 miles away from the office. It is expected to snow another 10-12 inches by this afternoon and possible up to two foot by tomorrow. We might be leaving early here today and possibly be closed saturday. I’ll keep you posted if we do this.

We want to inform you that for the cordless cell shades (honeycomb shades), the head rails are WHITE. They are not color coordinated with the fabric. That’s just the way they are made. The factory will put a metal strip in the head rail which is color coordinated. For the Hunter Douglas™ name brand, they do it slightly different. They will wrap the head rail in fabric. It looks much nicer but the cost can be significant.

We just added two new color lines in the Comfortex “sunscreens”. First is the Silver Screens II. Five new colors with that cool aluminum backing that gives this sunscreen the best reflective value on the market. The second group is called the Designer Screens in the Envisions collection. I got this information from a Comfortex flier but unfortunately I couldn’t find a digital photo of this so I scanned it. Still gets the point across I guess. All information comes from the flier. Even houses which appear to be well insulated may not be as energy efficient as one may think. This house was photographed during the winter using thermal photography, a process which exposes higher temperature zones as indicated by the color transitions. You will notice that the areas around the windows are particularly “hot”, proving that a significant amount of interior heat is escaping from these portions of the house.

We just added the new Comfortex Symphony Double Cellular Blackouts. This is a 3/8″ double honeycomb fabric made of the metal milar found in our single blackout cells. They look better, hang smoother and best of all, 99% energy efficient. We replaced the old Comfortex Matinee that had the gray backing with this new product. Our Hunter Douglas guy Joe Marley came to Broomfield for some project suggestions. He dropped by our store and said that the Hunter Douglas Everwoods and the Hunter Douglas Woodmates are not longer made of any type of PVC material and make all the Greenguard requirements. This is the first totally eco friendly alternative wood horizontal blind on the market.

This is a cool product that Comfortex offers. It is excellent for child safety and works great. Click here to get more details on this. This information comes directly from Comfortex. The chordless shade makes raising and lowering of the blinds easier than ever. Push up to raise and pull down to lower. Both moving rails will stay right where you put them. The hidden control system enables shades to be easily raised and lowered with the touch of a finger. The only visible cords are the ones that hold the middle rail in place. Enjoy your windows without the distraction of operational cords, especially on large windows with multiple shades. We just received the new Comfortex Envision roller shade book. It has a huge selection of new style roller shades. We will post this new product online as soon as we get sampling. The only thing that seems to remain the same verses the old Serenade book is the SilverScreens, Polynesian Sands, South Pacific, Suede Impressions, and some of the Phifer Sunscreens. We will keep you up to date once the samples arrive and promptly have a sale to kick off this new product line. The specs seem to be much greater than the old Serenade book.

Comfortex, a leading manufacturer in the window covering industry, just introduced its new cordless top down, bottom up cellular (honeycomb) shades. If you can reach the top of the window, you will have a handle instead of that long cord to drop the blind down from the top. You also have another handle at the bottom so you can raise and lower the shade like normal. It is a really cool feature and much more child friendly and hassle free because you no longer have the cords to deal with. They also just came out with a new roller shade line called the Envision Roller Shades. This will replace the Serenade book. There are supposed to be newer fabrics and the specs on the width are much wider than before. We are waiting on sampling before we place this online. Should be in the next week or two.
