I am through with the order of window blinds for the entire house and I guess while I am at it, I might as well change the window coverings of the garden room and pool house as well. I haven’t heard from Ms Pesky-Talkathon for the third day today which is really surprising. But she’s kept me busy with my Mission Window-Bolster these two days.
I think the sunscreen roller shades are ideal for outdoor window coverings. They’re made of the same kind of durable material that is used in outdoor furniture, are thicker and allow a choice of ‘openness’ in the slats. There’s a whole new silver series with aluminum backing in the market but I will let that pass for now. What I like most about them is that they’re energy efficient. Using sunscreen roller shades for outdoors should be fine as no one can see inside during the day but I can keep a watch during the evening and late evening when the kids are playing there. The head-rail is going to be wider than the fabric but then I do need sturdier window coverings in the garden and pool room. Since these shades also block out ultra violet rays I can do some writing during the afternoon by the pool.
The designer sunscreen roller shades also come with cassette valance and in a range of over 100 colors. I am planning to stick to the natural greens and browns for now considering that I have indulged myself while choosing blinds for the windows in the house.
And, I better check on Ms Pesky too. She’s gone missing. Very, very strange and unlike her.
P.S. This is a post-script I decided to write two hours later after all my orders were placed. I did go down to check on Ms Pesky. Am very depressed. She greeted me at the door and showed me around her house. She’s gone and replaced all her window coverings with snazzy shutters and blinds – those that came with self-installable features. That’s why she was missing for two days. Damn!
