Inside MountThe blind is mounted inside the window frame; offers a tailored look, emphasizing the actual size of the window. Any deductions will be made by the manufacturer. Window casing should at least meet the minimum depth required to accommodate the brackets, or the flush mount depth to have the headrail fully recessed in the casing. When selecting your size, enter the actual dimensions of your window casing.
![]() |
Outside MountThe blind is mounted on the wall or molding outside the window frame to cover an area larger than the window itself. Outside mounted blinds are required if the window casing is not deep enough to accommodate the mounting brackets for an inside mount. When selecting your size, enter the desired size of the blind itself - at least 1 1/2" of overlap on each side is recommended.

Comments about Double Blackout Honeycomb Shades:
I am a little concerned about the strings to open and close the shades...would have liked them to be thicker because afraid if pulled too hard might break..
otherwise......am very very happy with how they look and they sure keep out the light

Comments about Double Blackout Honeycomb Shades:
This blind is awesome and I truly love it! It was easy to instal and is a perfect blackout blind that also keeps out the cold/heat. I have drafty windows so this is perfect! The only thing is that although the top is a perfect fit (inside mount), there is an 1/8 inch crack along both sides that lets some light in. I purchased some foam tape to put along the sides to block out the light for total blackout. I would recommend purchasing the blind with the side rails to take care of this problem. I didn't have this option as my window was not deep enough.

Comments about Double Blackout Honeycomb Shades:
The blackout shades are great! The morning light dawns very early in the spring and summer here on the Eastern Seaboard (as early as 4 a.m. in June) so these shades help us sleep later than the lobstermen.

Comments about Double Blackout Honeycomb Shades:
These block out so much more light than our old blinds. They also hold in the heat surprisingly well. We've only put up these new blinds in one room, and we've already decided to do the rest of the house.

Comments about Double Blackout Honeycomb Shades:
These blinds are very nice. They look great and function perfectly as temperature control and room darkening blinds in our babies room. I purchased the cordless model for safety reasons since they are in a babies room. I also purchased the Top Down/Bottom Up option so I could regulate the sun glare in the room. The bottom up is fine but the top down I find a bit difficult to operate (maybe because I have a 76" length). I find I have to raise the entire blind from bottom to top in order to scrunch the top of the blinds to the valance to get a relatively light free seal. Outside of this, the actual product itself is wonderful.

Comments about Double Blackout Honeycomb Shades:
We had just purchased top of the line windows ... We also purchased some standard blinds from a common hardware store... They were nice, but on cold, cold nights, you could just feel the cold air downdrafting from the windows... On one of these cold nights, while visiting Grandparents, I put my hand by their window and couldn't believe that there was no cold downdraft... I questioned the windows I just purchased, but grandma said, open up the shades... I opened the shades and immediately felt the cold air downdraft... IT WAS THE SHADES THAT WAS KEEPING THE COLD AIR OUT... I immediately knew that I had to get some for our windows... I ordered them through this company, which is the same company that grandma got them from... It took about 2 1/2 weeks to make and arrive... The installation was easy... I had read that some complaints was that the shade didn't go all the way down, so I ensured that I made my measurements an extra two inches in length, which appeared to be quite critical... I got the double celled blackout, and they insulate awesome, and blackout awesome... I just got these, and don't know about the length of the life on them, but so far, totally happy and excited to have these installed... I know it will be helping keep the cold out in the winter months and keep the hot sun out in the summer months... I am pleased with the purchase.

Comments about Double Blackout Honeycomb Shades:
We got these shades because we needed some extra light blocking and window insulation.
They look great and operate great.
The construction and quality are top notch.
Not really sure why but 2 of the units from timber had some bunched pleats in the corners.
I called SSB and they were attentive & helpful in investigating this.
