Do you have a room that needs to be really dark?  Blackout Shades are the answer.  These window shades are constructed to cut all visible light and UV rays. They are perfect for children's rooms, nurseries or even home theaters!

Blackout Shades
are popular for bedrooms and media rooms. Most are made of a solid piece of fabric that goes up and down. They offer total light control, usually are very energy efficient, block the heat and cold out, and some are even good for blocking out the sound. All are affordable.

The most common blackout shade is the honeycomb or cellular shade. It looks just like a bees hive if you look at it from the side. Most have a metal milar interior that is hugely energy efficient. The cell can also trap sound. This shade goes up and down just like an accordion. You can motorize these, make them cordless or use a regular cordlock control.

The second most popular blackout shade will be the roller blind. It simply goes up and down on a roller. These are very popular because they are traditional, come in a large selection of color choices, and are very easy to operate. You can also motorize these for high windows. Using the spring loaded cordless option is still very popular. The standard cord chain system is still the most popular because it stabilizes the shade and is great for large windows.

Shades Shutters Blinds provides blackout materials or room darkening materials for all of our window shades. Give us a call for more information on blackout shades or order free samples.
