Custom Wood Shutters
Wood shutters have come a long way in the last few years. Wood plantation shutters can now be categorized as two types. Custom painted or stained from scratch and pre-painted and stained. The custom wood shutters have been hit very hard in the last few years due to the pre-painted wood shutters. Some of the disadvantages with the custom painted wood shutter is that it takes around six through nine weeks for delivery and is typically much more expensive than the pre-painted and stained wood shutters. The advantages of the custom painted shutters is that they can truly be custom made to any window application. You can do funny shaped shutters and arches which are not provided with the pre-painted. Another advantage is that you can do custom stained and paints to match any decor out there. If you want to match a stain or paint, you can do it with these. Lastly, for custom wood shutters, you can have basically any option you want including aging, handles, custom hinges and custom openings. Shades Shutters Blinds does not provide custom painted shutters online just because of their complexity. We have to simplify shutters for self installation, price and basic options. Shades Shutters Blinds uses a local company in the Denver area for custom wood shutters. Alpine wood shutter has been around much longer than most local companies and seems to have specialized in the upper end market where price is not as huge as an issue as providing a nice look for these mountain homes. It is total turn key from measuring to installation and can run up to thirty dollars a square foot depending on the application. Most of the local shutter companies are being hit hard and many have gone out of business. The second type of wood shutters is the pre-painted and stained. They are still produced to the nearest sixteenth of an inch but the customer chooses from a selector deck to pick the colors that most closely matches. The price on this is much much cheaper than the custom painted ones starting around seventeen dollars a square foot. The advantages of the pre-painted and stained wood shutters is the price and the tons of colors to choose from and lastly, quick delivery in around three to six weeks. The disadvantages of the pre-painted and stained wood shutters is that you cannot custom fit every window so options are limited. Also, most are made in China and delivery can sometimes become slow. For the price and if you have normal not odd windows, this shutteris basically priced to sell and still has a lifetime warranty. Shades Shutters Blinds uses Norman Shutters for its wood shutters. Norman is the largest shutter producer in the world. The shutters are made in China but there are many distribution centers in the United States that can support any problems that arise.
