The closeouts are a great money saver and for those that have ordered them, the quality certainly doesn’t match the bargain price. El Camino and Tweed Lentil are out. They are gone perminately.

I know this isn’t blind related but I have about had it. What they don’t eat? Habenaros
What they do eat: so far destroyed this summer include: roses, tomatoes, backyard grass, strawberries, tulips, any new baby tree, bell pepper (you would think different), sun flowers, daisies, and now columbines. For a minute I was assuming it was pocket gophers which I thought I had under control finally (columbines are supposed to be deer proof) but two mule deer were standing right there munching away. I got a quick picture of one before they took off. It is a little fuzzy because I took it out of a closed window. Any suggestions (oil, scent and deer be gone type stuff isn’t working one bit)?

This isn’t blind related but my wife became an official US citizen today. In 1994 I was working in the Czech Republic for an American marketing company right out of college. My wife was a Swedish student who was spending the summer there as a opare for a Swedish family. I hung around a group of around 10 Americans and each week we would have dinner/party at someones flat. One of my buddies was looking for a new roommate and posted an ad at a local hangout. A young Swedish girl replied and since we were young bachelors we decided to have the party at his place for the “interview”. That’s where I met her. We soon started dating. When the job was up on my end, we moved to Sweden at her parents house (yes they are laid back there but this was a HUGE issue). I couldn’t find any work and we decided to move to my parents place for a bit in Texas. She came over on a 90 day tourist visa, started school at UTA in Arlington and was soon on a student visa. When she graduated, we were married and she became a permanent resident of the USA. Since our daughter was born here, we decide she should go for her citizenship. After six months of paperwork, and tons of hard work and finally today, she’s official. The ceremony was about two hours long in Denver, it was VERY emotional even for a old school-er like myself. A nice young lady from S. Africa gave a touching speech about her experience in NYC during 9/11. Made me cry like a baby. Then the lady leading the ceremony said stand up as your country of origin was named. There were 240 people from 51 different countries and each stood up as their country was called out. Canada and of coarse Mexico were the main participants. They got a nice certificate and a speech by the President congratulating all of them. From a young Swedish 18 year old, to a college graduate, business owner and proud mother 14 years later, I am as proud as can be. Congratulations Rose-Marie. I love you.

Neutral colors are the foundation colors upon which a room should be built on. It is the rooms base. Neutrals include whites which revitalizes, creams for a calm look or an accent to break up a large room. Beige’s are friendly and can be from formal to casual. Browns are earthy. I have been wanting to write more interesting stuff than just back order issues but this is the place to stay updated and letting you know what’s being delayed is more important than matching colors for your room. Hunter Douglas Provenance woven woods. Many colors are on back order and we will keep you posted as we find out but the Sierra Slate Ridge is on back order until the 25th of June nationwide. Nova Pointe is still on back order nationwide (Rio). For the Nova Pointe, we have an almost exact match with the Avondale by Prestige (Prestige Group 1). It is around the same price and IS in stock. We have been making several order changes to that fabric line over the last week or two.

Hope everyone had a nice memorial weekend and we are very proud of our Denver Nuggets. Nova Ponte is a very popular woven wood fabric and unfortuanely it is on back order until June. Please be patient on this. We have sent emails to every customer that has an order waiting on the material but if we missed you expect next month. The factory should have it turned around within 72 hours after material arrives.

 Cadence by Hunter Douglas
This is about the new Cadence® by Hunter Douglas and can be found in their View™ magazine that is published a few times per year. When the Cadence® was first launched, it redefined the vertical blind market. Hunter Douglas™ patented and proprietated the curved louver with rich, textured fabrics. Hunter Douglas just added new styles and patterns to the Motif™ and for the Impressions™. There are now 5 new styles of fabric with thirty nine color choices for the Motif. The Impressions now has 6 styles of printed and textured vinyl louvers with over forty two colors. You can now buy fabric by the yard to compliment your blinds. The fabrics are available in eleven designer colors to match the Cadence or any Hunter Douglas product. Some of the new options include a wood valance in ten stains and the PermAssure® Safety Wand system which eliminates the chain and cord for enhanced child (and pet) safety.
