Actual Installation Instructions by Shades Shutters BlindsHorizontal Installation Written Instructions 1. First, take the blinds out of the package. Each blind should include brackets, screws, valances and valance clips. Depending on the size, some blinds will have a center support bracket included. 2. There are two ways to hang your blinds: the easy way and the hard way. Tools needed for the easy way: 1/4" hex bit, drill, scissors and a tape measure. Tools needed for the hard way: hammer, tape measure, Phillips head screw driver, pencil, nail and scissors. 3. Open up the bracket and install it first. Do this for both sides of the window. Use two screws on each bracket. For the easy way, use your drill and the 1/4" hex bit For the hard way, put the bracket up on the window and mark the holes with a pencil. Take the bracket down and use your hammer and nail to start the hole. This is your pilot hole and will make screwing the screw in easier. Next, pull the nail out and put the bracket back up. Use your screw driver to screw the screws in. 5. If the blind meets the size requirements, you will receive a center support bracket. Install this to the top of the window the same way as you installed the brackets. Set it the same distance back as the brackets. Important! Before you put it up, make sure that center support bracket will not interfere with the strings (look at the blinds before hanging to determine where you will hang the center support bracket). 6. This is what it should look like when the brackets and center support bracket is up. Important! Put you valance clips on first. If you forget to put on the valance clips before you hang the blind, you will have to take the blind down and then add them. Also, make sure the tilt and lift strings are out of the headrail. Note: It is easier to hang the blind if you leave it in the up position until the installation is complete. 8. Put your valance clips on. Make sure they do not interfere with any of the mechanisms. 9. Put the blind into the brackets. Close the brackets (make sure they snap in the hole). 10. Once the brackets are closed, snap the valance into the valance clips. 11. Let the blind down and make sure everything works. Your done! |
